Mr Cola

Posted by [email protected] on March 7, 2015 at 1:25 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

am a huge fan of gourmet colas because they are always very refreshing compared to name brand ones. So far my favorite cola is Spiffy Cola but I am always optomistic and I have a good feeling about Mr Cola. The color is standard for a cola but that was expected. The smell was similar to spiffy. A more high quality sweet cola smell. As we poured the aroma wafted through the air and it was delightful. When I tasted the soda it was alot like Spiffy. It was a sweet and ref...

Jones Berry Lemonade

Posted by [email protected] on February 21, 2015 at 4:15 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

Jones has put out consistently good sodas and this seems to be one of their most popular sodas. The color looked artificial but I maintained my faith in Jones. This is one of the many sodas sent to me by my cousins in Michigan and being a Michigian based company Jones can be easily found there. In my opinion a berry lemonade soda should be pretty tart but also have a berry flavor that is not necisarlely sweet either. This berry lemonade is a model for all others. It had a li...

Flathead Lake Strawberry Orange

Posted by [email protected] on February 19, 2015 at 9:35 AM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

I was very intrigued by this flavor combination and I was even more exited that it was a Flathead Lake. We have already tried their Granny Smith soda and that was very nice so this is gonna be interesting. The color of this pop was beautful. It had a red-orange color that looked like mango or something. Lets just say ity was a beautiful color. The smell was alot like a fruitsnack. It smelled of a mildly tart orange and a sweet strawberry and they paired nicely together. We w...

Candy Cane by Orca Bev.

B`s Review:

I have been pretty impressed with Orca`s holiday selection and this pop is one of last two we have to try. I liked the sugar plum but NOT the sugar cookie one so this should be interesting. The bottle had Candy Cane written over an array of red and white stripes that made me a little dizzy. The bottle was retro-looking. The color of this pp was completly clear.Completly. If I didn`t know better I would have mistaken it for water. When we poured the pop it smelled alot...

B`s Review:

I don`t know why but lately we have been trying alot of ginger ales lately. I think I speak for all of RTBC when I say we have all grown to like flavors that we didn`t like before, just ask T. Any way I got this soda from some relatives in Michigan and they spoke very higly of it so I waas very exited to try this pop. I have heard this pop is HUGE in Michigan but I havn`t seen it any where local. I know it comes in bottle but this particular batch came in cans. The can was a...

WBC Orange Cream

Posted by [email protected] on February 7, 2015 at 9:45 AM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

This being the first of the WBC brand that we have tried I was exited. The color was a dark orange that looked excellent. The smell of this pop got me salavating. It was exactly like and orange cream ice cream bar but better. The orange smelled natural and prominent and a rich and creamy vanilla aroma then wafted into my nostrils making me very thirsty. At this point  was very exited. When I poured the pop, it developed a brilliant orange faom that rose half an inch abo...

Melba's Fixins Lemon Meringue Pie

Posted by [email protected] on February 7, 2015 at 9:20 AM Comments comments (0)

T's Review:

We bought three of these in a pie soda trifecta. We tried Strawberry Cream as the first one. It was beyond terrible. Then we reluctantly tried Key Lime. It was actually really good. Now I had mixed feelings about trying this one. I smelled it and it was really good at first, exactly like a lemon meringue pie. When we poured it in the cups, it smelled like chemicals. It had a nice light yellow color to it. When I tasted it, I realized it was better than the Key Lime. It was r...

Sprecher Ginger Ale

Posted by [email protected] on February 2, 2015 at 5:20 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

I have been looking forward to this tasting for a little while now and I have high hopes for this Sprecher Gnger Ale. As you should know Sprecher`s is a tryed ans true brand of RTBC so we were all looking forward to this review. The classic Sprecher bottle depicted an ice skating penguin which was conviently placed due to the foot of snow outside. The color was clear which is usually the case with ginger ales. The smell was faint but you could smell the ginger for sure. When...

Taylor`s Tonics Eggnog Fizz

Posted by [email protected] on February 2, 2015 at 5:10 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

I like eggnog as it is so I was very curious as to how an eggnong soda would taste. Also this is the first of the Taylor`s Tonics to be reviewed by RTBC so this should be interesting. The color was a translucent cream color. Like when you wash out a yogurt. It seemed to be the perfect color for an eggnog soda. The smell was exactly like eggnog. I meen exactly like it! It had a strong nutmeg aroma and then a sweet creamy smell followed. When I tasted this soda it was alot lik...

Reeds Original Ginger Brew

B`s Review:

I have been very impressed with Reed`s products in the past so I was very exited to try this pop. When I looked at the website it said that it was made with pineapple, lemon, lime, honey an spices along with the usual ingredients (carbonated water, cane sugar etc.). I was curious about why they used the pineapple but I soon found out. Another thing that caught my eye on this traditional 12oz bottle was the "Jamaican Style" heading above the flavor. When I looked at the websi...

Snooki Wild Cherry From Rocket Fizz

Posted by [email protected] on February 1, 2015 at 2:15 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

Rocket Fizz`s sodas have been unprodictable in the past so I wasn`t sure what to expect. Wild cherry is in a totally different than Black Cherry so my expectations are very different when I review wild cherries. A good wild cherry in my opinion is a sweet but flavorful chery flavor with perfect carbonation. Also I kept in mind that this is more of a gag soda so I some what lowered my expectations. The color of this soda was artificial but perfect for a wild cherry. It was a ...

Flying Cauldron Butterscotch Beer

Posted by [email protected] on January 27, 2015 at 4:55 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

I was extremely exited to try this pop because the flavor sounded so creamy and butter-scotchy. I mean seriously, who could resist "butterscotch cream soda". Any way many soda reviewers have tried this soda but I have never taken the time to read any of their reviews. The color was a nice pale, and gold color that was very fitting for the flavor. The smell was honestly off putting because of its overwhelming sweetness. It was definetly butterscotch but a very very sweet butt...

Jackson Hole Soda Company Root Beer

Posted by [email protected] on January 27, 2015 at 4:35 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

I will start off by saying that the Virgils Bavarian Nutmeg was unique and outstanding. I expected it to meet its match eventually, but not this soon! The Virgils was unique and one of the most interesting flavor profiles I have ever encountered. With ingredients from over 8 different countries it was also one of the most expensive. Anyway this is about JHS`s root beer so where do I start. I went into this pop like I do with any other review, cautious but curious. The JHS Gr...

Death Valley Black Cherry

Posted by [email protected] on January 23, 2015 at 6:20 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

In the wake of the recent Black Cherry Blind Tasting I wasn`t really in the mood to try another Black Cherry but here we go. The color was a standard red color, nothing unusual. The smell of this soda was sweet yet faint. As most of you know I very sensative with sweetness. It can`t be too sweet or I will not be a fan of the pop. The sweet smell worried me but I carried on. The Carbonation was way to low and made this pop more of a juice. Honestly there was barely any at all...

Cock`n Bull Cherry Ginger Beer

Posted by [email protected] on January 8, 2015 at 6:05 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

I was a pretty big fan of the original Cock`n Bull Ginger Beer (See Review) so this tasting was a priority to me. We recently tried the Rocket Fizz Shirley Temple (See Review) so I was ready to see how this would compare. The color of this soda was a light, almost clear red that fit this pop prefectly. The smell started off with a beautiful, sweet cherry  that actually resemleb a black cherry. Then came the strong delectable ginger scent that only Cock`n Bull can supply...

Rocket Fizz Wintergreen

Posted by [email protected] on January 8, 2015 at 10:50 AM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

As you know the other members of RTBC and I are fond of the Rocket Fizz line. We have tried many from this line and have been pleased so I was expecting good things. The flavor wintergreen on first glance might seem strange in a soda and it is, but it is one of the main flavors in any Birch Beer so if you like Birch Beer than this shouldn`t be to weird to you. The color of this soda was a dark green that looked very artificial. When we poured the soda the dark green looked l...

Jarritos Guava

B`s Review:

I am going to bet that all of you out there have heard of Jarritos. A spanish soda line that can be found at Jewel, Meier or pretty much any other grocery store in town. However some of the more unique flavors (Tamarind, Guava etc.) are found at spanish grocery stores or specialty stores. This soda was purchased at a local Grocery store and I was exited to try it. It is hard to believe that we have not yet tried anything from this popular brand. The color of this pop was a s...

Seal Ya Later (Osama Bin Laden Dictator Series)

Posted by [email protected] on January 7, 2015 at 10:40 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

We have tried a dictator soda from Rocket Fizz before (Atomic Orange Kim Jong Un) and we were not pleased. But I like colas and I consider myself open minded so when I grabbed this soda I tried to remain optomistic. The color of this soda was that of an average cola. And since the last soda from this line wasn`t all that quality I expected this to taste like Coke or Pepsi. Note this soda IS sweetned with cane sugar so it shouldn`t stick to my teeth. When we poured the pop I ...

Rocket Fizz Shirley Temple

Posted by [email protected] on December 25, 2014 at 4:30 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

Shirley Temple, Kiddie Cocktail, whatever you want to call it, it is ginger and cherry. The common way to make this is to mix ginger ale and cherry juice but not at Rocket Fizz. In this case it is a soda. As you know I am pleased with the Rocket Fizz line of sodas and I`m enjoyed the 2 we have sampled so far. When I smelled this soda I could only really smell a sweet cherry scent. Also I could smell a little carbonation but nothing else. When I first saw this soda it had a pi...

Bedford's Ginger Ale

Posted by [email protected] on December 25, 2014 at 4:10 PM Comments comments (0)

B`s Review:

As I looked down at the green tinted bottle with an old-fashion label attached to the front I had one thought and one thought only... this better be a ginger ALE. As you should know ginger ales are smoother while ginger beers are strong and spicy. We recently tried Americana Honey Lime Ginger ALE (see review) and it was very spicy, so they kinda ruined my sense of security when it comes to labeling (the soda was great though). Then I recall that Bedford`s also has a ginger b...
